Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 per year

The Role:

As the Head of Department (English Teacher), you will play a pivotal role in shaping the English curriculum and leading a team of dedicated teachers. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and managing the English department, fostering a collaborative and supportive team culture
  • Developing and implementing innovative teaching strategies to enhance student engagement and achievement
  • Ensuring the delivery of high-quality lessons that meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Monitoring student progress and implementing intervention strategies where necessary
  • Collaborating with other departments to promote cross-curricular learning opportunities
  • Contributing to the professional development of staff through coaching, mentoring, and training initiatives

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a proven track record of successful teaching in English
  • Experience in a leadership or management role within a school setting
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • A passion for English language and literature, and a commitment to fostering a love for the subject among students
  • The ability to inspire and motivate both students and colleagues
  • A strong understanding of current educational trends and initiatives
