Job Title: Support Worker with SEN Experience

Location: Bournemouth and Christchurch

Hourly Rate: £12.82

Start Date: Immediate start and September availability


GSL Education are collaborating with local mainstream primary schools in Bournemouth and Christchurch to help recruit Support Workers with SEN experience. As a Support Worker you will be playing a crucial role in the classroom to support pupils who require additional provision and support. The schools are mainstream primary schools, however this position is specific to the support needed for SEN pupils within a mainstream educational setting. A large part of this role will be to adapt to the needs of the individuals and incorporate bespoke provision so that the pupils can thrive at school.

This position is open to both part and full-time candidates.


Responsibilities:

  • Implement personalised education and behaviour plans
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive environment that encourages independence and personal growth.
  • Utilise effective communication strategies to build rapport and trust with the pupils.
  • Collaborate with the staffing team, including class teacher and the leadership team, to ensure consistent support.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a Support Worker in school or similar teaching assistant roles working with SEN pupils
  • Understanding of SEN and experience working with children or adults with SEN
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt to the dynamic needs of the pupils
  • A compassionate and patient approach with pupils
