Salary: £25 – £40 per hour

About the Role:
GSL Education are currently seeking a skilled Functional Skills Tutor to deliver Maths and English courses to students in Rotherham. This position offers the unique opportunity to significantly impact our learners' educational and vocational outcomes by enhancing their practical Maths and English skills.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver targeted Functional Skills lessons in Maths and English to a diverse group of learners.
• Utilise a variety of teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students’ varying needs and interests.
• Assess and monitor student progress, adapting teaching strategies to foster effective learning.
• Implement individual learning plans and provide personalized support to ensure student achievement in line with educational standards.
• Promote a positive learning environment, encouraging students to engage in their education actively.

The successful candidate will:

• Possess a relevant teaching qualification (PGCE, CertEd, or equivalent) in a related subject.
• Have proven experience in teaching Functional Skills Maths and English to varied age groups.
• Exhibit excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of motivating and inspiring learners.
• Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing educational practices and student success.
• Be patient, adaptable, and have a genuine passion for teaching fundamental skills.

The successful candidate will be subject to background checks, including an enhanced DBS disclosure, either registered to the update service or a willingness to apply for a new one through GSL Education.
