SEMH Teaching Assistant

Location: Rotherham 

Salary Scale: £95 to £105 per day

Start Date: ASAP, Full Time - 4 posts available

About the Role:

GSL Education are seeking proactive and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistants to join our supportive school community in Rotherham S25. In this role, you will contribute significantly to the wellbeing and educational development of students experiencing social, emotional, and mental health challenges.

Responsibilities:

  • Support students with SEMH needs, facilitating their academic and social development.
  • Work collaboratively with the educational team to implement tailored learning and behavioural management strategies.
  • Engage students in activities that promote emotional resilience and positive interactions.
  • Monitor and report on the progress of students to relevant staff and provide input on adapting educational approaches as needed.
  • Assist in creating a supportive and understanding school environment that encourages student participation.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be compassionate and understanding of the complexities associated with SEMH challenges.
  • Have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage effectively with students.
  • Display a commitment to the educational and personal development of students.
  • Show adaptability in managing diverse and dynamic educational needs.
  • Previous experience in a similar role or working with children with SEMH needs is highly desirable.
